Dell upgrades “XPS Desktop” in new version

XPS Desktop from Dell is being revamped in almost every respect: it gets new CPUs, many new GPU options and a new design. In terms of performance and aesthetics, it easily outshines the previous setup.

XPS Desktop looks much more modern than the previous model. It is more compact, doesn’t look too massive anymore and is also brighter. A further change compared to the predecessor is the mesh front, which is aesthetically in line with the spirit of the times and also has cooling advantages.

Technically massively upgraded

XPS Desktop. Dell has also technically equipped the tower massively. Thus, Dell relies on the latest generation of Intel Comet Lake S chips in the new 8940 version. Customers can choose between several of these processors – starting with the i3-10100 with four cores and a clock rate of up to 4.3 GHz up to the i9-10900K with ten cores and a maximum clock rate of 5.3 GHz, almost everything is possible here.

Also regarding the graphics card, there is a wide range of choices. Dell offers the new tower with Intel UHD iGPU as well as GPUs from Nvidia and AMD. The individual choices here are once again very broad: From Nvidia, for example, there are numerous graphics units to choose from, from the GeForce GT 1030 with two GB GDDR5 memory to the GeForce RTX 2070 Super with eight GB GDDR6 memory and from AMD, from the Radeon RX 5300 to the Radeon RX 5700 XT with eight GB GDDR6 graphics memory.

Many storage options

Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 or with Wi-Fi 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.0. In addition, there is E2600 Gigabit Ethernet, various USB ports, an Aux output and an SD card reader. The available display connectors differ depending on the selected graphics card.

When and at what price the new tower will be available is not yet known. However, information is likely to follow in the near future.
