EliteBook x360 830 G5: HP Introduces Business Convertible

At the CES, HP announced the addition of a new device to its EliteBook-800 business series. With the presented “EliteBook x360 830 G5” now also a convertible belongs to the business series.

The Business series, to which the new convertible belongs, is located in the upper middle class. It has quite powerful components, but does without high-end hardware. Thus a comparatively favourable price can be guaranteed. The EliteBook now presented has also been designed according to this concept.

The device has a 13.3 inch display and can easily be turned into a tablet thanks to the 360 degree hinge. It has both a keyboard and a touch display for which pen support is provided. The keyboard makes it ideal for business use. The Full HD IPS display can be purchased with or without the Sure View function. The Sure View function allows the viewing angle stability to be manually switched off, providing more privacy. This function is particularly interesting for people who want to work with the convertible in public spaces. It is also possible to purchase a version with anti-reflective display or with a display brightness of 100 nit.

In addition, the device is characterised by its narrow display edges and the “Windows 10” operating system installed. The operating system is particularly interesting because support for the more common “Windows 7” will be discontinued next year. Many companies will then opt either for a complex software update or for new devices. With the new EliteBook, HP offers a promising device for the future, which with “Windows 10” certainly has an important purchasing argument.

The business convertible is driven by an eighth-generation Intel processor with whiskey lake microarchitecture. In addition, there is 32 GB RAM, 2 TB internal memory, LTE, a WLAN chip and a coverable webcam. At the back there is also a removable panel. If this is opened, it is possible to access certain hardware components and exchange them.
