Microsoft HoloLens Software from April for iOS and Android

So far Apple with its ARKit and Google with its ARCore dominate the mobile augmented reality area. Now Microsoft is also entering this fast-growing area with its HoloLens software. The first applications for iOS and Android smartphones, which are aimed specifically at business customers for the time being, are due to appear in April.

The company wants to make functions that could previously only be used with HoloLens glasses, which cost around 5,000 euros, available on smartphones as well. iOS users will receive the “Dynamics 365 Product Visualize” app, which enables virtual objects to be displayed three-dimensionally in real time in the motion recorded by the camera. This feature is designed to help designers better understand the size and functionality of their designs.

Android users receive the app “Dynamics 365 Remote Assist” with the release, with which three-dimensional instructions can be displayed on the smartphone from a distance. The app can be used to help with repairs and remote maintenance by experts.
