MWC 2019 – LG Q60, K50 and K40 Smartphones Announced

The South Korean company LG will present its new flagship G8 ThinQ as well as the mid-range smartphones K40, K50 and Q60 at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC).

All devices have an HD+ FullVision display, the diagonal of the LG Q60 is 6.26 inch, the LG K50 and K40 have a 5.7 inch display. There are minor differences in the design of the smartphones, the K40 has a relatively large frame at the upper edge of the display as a low-cost device of the new introductions, while the cameras of the K50 and Q60 are located in a small waterdrop notch.

The other features of the smartphones are also relatively similar. The 2.0 GHz fast Octa Core processor is identical, the K40 has 2 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM, the K50 has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM and the Q60 also has three GB RAM and 64 GB ROM. In addition, all smartphones have a microSD slot with which the internal memory can be expanded by up to 2 TB. The battery capacity of the entry-level model K40 is 3,000 mAh, the other two devices have a 500 mAh larger battery.

The three cameras available per device are supported by AI features for scene and object recognition. The K40 has an 8 megapixel front camera with LED flash and a 16 megapixel main camera with autofocus. With the K50, LG uses a front camera with 13 megapixel resolution and a secondary rear camera with 2 megapixels to detect distances. The Q60 also has a 5 megapixel rear camera with a super wide-angle lens.

The prices and the release date of the three new LG smartphones have not yet been communicated by the company.
