Noctua today introduced NT-H2, the improved second generation of its award-winning hybrid thermal compound. It combines the outstanding application comfort and proven long-term stability of the popular NT-H1 with a novel, further optimized microparticle formulation for even better thermal performance. At the same time Noctua presented a new, extra-large 10g pack of the NT-H1 as well as the NA-SCW1 set, a pack of 20 cleaning cloths ideally suited for fast and efficient removal of heat-conducting paste residues.
“Our NT-H1 thermal compound, introduced in 2007, has been supplied with our premium coolers for more than 10 years and has proven its excellent performance in countless test reports,” says Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). “Especially overclockers and hardware enthusiasts around the globe like to use NT-H1 – not only because of its thermal efficiency, but also because of its easy application and cleaning. Now we are proud to present NT-H2, the new, second generation that offers even better performance values!
In order to further improve the award-winning NT-H1, the mixture of metal oxide microparticles for NT-H2 was consistently further optimized to enable an even lower thermal resistance and lower layer thicknesses at typical contact pressure. In this way, NT-H2 can achieve even better results in most application scenarios. In Noctua’s standardized tests with different platforms and power dissipations, temperatures were reduced by up to 2°C.
Like NT-H1, NT-H2 does not require any burn-in time and can be used on the CPU for up to 5 years thanks to its excellent long-term stability. Both pastes are electrically non-conductive and non-corrosive, so there is no risk of short circuits and they can be easily used with any type of cooler.
NT-H2 will be available in standard 3.5g packs and extra-large 10g packs containing three (3.5g) or ten (10g) NA-CW1 wipes in addition to the paste. The cloths moistened with a special active agent solution are ideal for the quick and efficient cleaning of CPUs, GPUs and the contact surface of heat sinks. For power users who frequently disassemble and reassemble their coolers, the NA-CW1 cleaning cloths are also available separately in the form of the NA-SCW1 20-piece set.
In addition to the new NT-H2 and the NA-SCW1 cleaning cloths, Noctua has also introduced a new 10g pack of the popular NT-H1, which was previously only available in 3.5g containers. The new 10g version is perfect for use on large processors such as AMD Threadripper (TR4) or Intel LGA3647, where a larger amount of thermal compound is required.
