Storage provider Patriot has announced its new P210 series 2.5-inch SATA III SSDs. The new SSDs offer 6 Gbps and are available in capacities from 128 GB up to 2 TB. The new P210 series is suitable for upgrading or for new PC systems and as a storage expansion for game consoles. According to the manufacturer, the new SSDs are supposed to stand out for their good price-performance ratio.
Patriot P210: Good reliability and high transfer rates
The Patriot P210 series is designed to achieve good reliability and high transfer speeds by using the best NAND quality, the latest SATA III controller and strict quality controls. According to the manufacturer, performance-wise up to 50,000 IOPs with 4K aligned random read and write speeds and up to 520 MB/s sequential read and 430 MB/s sequential write speeds can be achieved. When this allows applications to load and start faster, overall system performance can be improved, making you more responsive and productive.
The P210 series SSDs offer a built-in temperature sensor for protection. This protects the drives from thermal problems and overheating. S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) technology is also supported. Potential hardware problems of the SSDs are thus detected and reported early. The supported TRIM command improves the lifetime of P210 SSDs by detecting which data blocks are currently not in use.
