According to the developer of the tool „DRAM Calculator for Ryzen“ the next generation of AMD Ryzen processors will be able to use DDR4-RAM with up to 5000 MHz memory clock. Ryzen 2000 processors support a maximum of DDR4-2933 RAM.
The performance of the new processors is likely to be significantly higher than that of current AMD Ryzen 2000 CPUs, not only because of the significantly faster RAM, but also because of the 7 nm production based on the new „Zen 2“ microarchitecture. In the new microarchitecture, the memory controller is no longer part of the CPU cores, but is outsourced in a separate „IO chip“. This should allow more possibilities when using high RAM frequencies.
