Razer is presenting a new concept at CES that is not yet ready for the market. The Sila is a 5G home router, with which Razer addresses gamers as usual.
The concept router supports 5G and 4G on the mobile side. Locally, either Wi-Fi 6 802.11x 4×4 or Gigabit-LAN is used. The mobile router has four connections. USB 3.0 and a 2.5 Gigabit WAN port are also available.
The Razer Sila has a built-in, rechargeable battery and should make it possible to hold spontaneous, delay-free tournaments. Especially over the 5G network this will be possible in the future, over 4G the latencies are a bit higher – but quite useful.
By bandwidth optimization Razer wants to prioritize the important applications to offer the best experience for gaming and streaming. The router can be easily configured via Android or iOS app.
When and at what price the Razer Sila 5G Home Router will be available is not yet known.
