Kioxia, provider of flash memory and solid state drives, has now presented the next generation of NVMe SSDs based on the so-called „Enterprise & Datacenter SSD Form Factor E3.S“. This EDSFF E3.S form factor supports higher storage density to deliver better performance while optimizing data center scalability.
Kioxia: New Form Factor Standard E3.S
E3.S is a new form-factor standard for NVMe SSDS designed for cloud and enterprise data centers, particularly with PCIe 5.0 and beyond. The design and development of next-generation systems is expected to benefit from the E3.S standard. This is the case for cloud, hyper-convergent and standard servers as well as All Flash Array (AFA) systems. The E3.S specification with identical connector provides options for size, power consumption and capacity. EDSFF E3.S is designed with future generations of PCIe in mind, offering higher performance and improving performance, cooling and flexibility over other form factors...
