In the run-up to the
Mobile Word Congress (MWC) at the end of February, the Berlin-based company
AVM has announced four new WLAN mesh repeaters and a new FRITZ! box for Gigabit Internet. AVM has also changed the name from FRITZ!WLAN-Repeater to FRITZ!repeater. All announced devices supported FRITZ!OS 7 and should receive several updates according to AVM. However, the company does not specify a specific time period for this.
The name extension of the FRITZ! repeaters 600, 1200, 2400 and 3000 indicates the maximum possible bandwidth under ideal conditions. On a positive note, all announced FRITZ! repeaters are also compatible with hardware from other manufacturers thanks to WPS support. In addition, the repeaters automatically synchronize their settings with the central FRITZ! box even after the initial setup. Band Steering, AP Steering and Crossband Repeating for power tuning are also automatically supported.
