Olympus upgrades some cameras to webcams

Webcams are probably more popular than ever in the last few months. Due to the pandemic, people everywhere have switched from personal contact in meetings and the like to web conferencing – and this only works perfectly with cameras. Many companies have upgraded their cameras to webcams as a result. Olympus is now following this development.
This conversion to a webcam is usually done by software – either this software is installed with an update or made available for separate download. Exactly the same procedure is used by Olympus. The program OM-D Webcam Beta is now available in a beta version. With it, the cameras E-M1X, E-M1, E-M1 Mark II, E-M1 Mark III and E-M5 Mark II can be transformed into streaming cameras in no time at all.
After downloading and installing the software, which is currently only available in a Windows version, the camera can be connected to a computer via USB cable and turned into a webcam at the touch of a button. It can then be used for image transmission...
