Plextor launches M8V Plus SSD based on Kioxia NAND

Plextor has introduced a new SSD series called M8V Plus, which is available in both M.2 and SATA versions and uses 96-layer 3D NAND flash from Kioxia (formerly Toshiba).
Versions and technical details
The SSDs appear with 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. The new M8V Plus is the successor of the M8V series. Instead of 64-layer 3D TLC NAND flash, now 96-layer 3D TLC NAND flash comes to Eisnatz, which is provided by Kioxia. The conversion is accompanied by an improvement in random access performance. Silicon Motion SM2258 is used as the controller for the new M8V Plus. Error correction mechanisms such as „data shaping“, „RAID engine“ and „LDPC technology“ ensure stability during data transfer.
Features of the M8V Plus SSD from Plextor are also impressive. With the „Plex Compressor“, files are automatically compressed after 30 days if they have not been used during this time.
