The Plextor PX-256M8SeGN is the 256 GB model of Plextor’s NVMe-M.2 series M8SeGN. This memory size is one of the most popular, as it is priced within an acceptable range for most people. As an NVMe-M.2 SSD, it also offers significantly higher speeds than an outdated HDD and also easily depends on SATA SSDs. Here Plextor promises a sequential reading speed of up to 2,400 MB/s and a sequential writing speed of up to 1,000 MB/s. The used Marvell 88SS1093 controller is the first SSD controller from Marvell with NVMe- and PCI Express 3.0. It was presented at the CES 2015 with a data rate of about 2.9 GB/s. For the 2,400 MB/s of the Plextor M8SeGN, it is therefore ideally suited. With a TBW (Total Bytes Written) of 160 TB, the SSD is in the mid-range of durability, which is more than enough for most.
