Amazon.com briefly listed new Samsung SSDs that had not yet been announced. Under the designation Samsung 870 QVO, new SSDs with up to 8 TB capacity will reach us in the next few months.
The new SSDs were probably only leaked by mistake through the dealer by publishing the product pages prematurely. Because in the meantime they are offline again. Nevertheless, the Samsung 870 QVO has of course not remained undiscovered.
The Samsung 870 QVO will be the successor of Samsung’s first QLC NAND SSD, the 860 QVO. So the 870 QVO will very likely also use QLC memory with 4 bits per memory cell. What is certain, however, is that it is an SSD in the 2.5-inch form factor with SATA connection.
According to Amazon, the new Samsung 870 QVO will be released on June 30th, 2020 with 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB. The 8 TB version will then follow on August 24, 2020. 130 US dollars for 1 TB and the 8 TB SSD is expected to be priced at 900 US dollars.
