Skype can now also be used without an account

Microsoft probably does not want to leave the currently strongly growing market for online meetings to its competitor Zoom and is now making Skype use possible without a Skype account.
From now on, no account is required for setting up and participating in a Skype meeting. The new function is available both via the locally installed software and via browser. But only for Chrome and Edge.
Participants join via invitation link and can enter a name that is valid for 24 hours. A password protection is unfortunately not (yet) provided. Anyone who has or guesses the link can join.
The usage does not seem to be restricted. Besides audio and video, chat with emojis, GIFs and polls is also available. Also files and contacts can be sent. For online meetings the possibility to share the screen is also not irrelevant.
There is no time limit for the meetings. Recordings are stored for 30 days if required.
