Gaming headsets don’t necessarily have the best reputation. Manufacturers of such products often attach more importance to concise basses than to a balanced sound image. We tested the „MMX300 (2nd generation)“ from beyerdynamic and asked if the manufacturer had a different strategy for their products.
The packaging of the „MMX300“ is unspectacular. It is a simple cardboard box, but the scope of delivery is extensive. Inside is the headset itself and a combo jack cable to connect the headset to a source. This is a 4-pin jack connector, as found on mobile phone headsets. In addition an extension cable, which converts the 4-pole connection to a 3-pole and a 2-pole one, thus the headset can be operated at all usual sound cards...
