The first rumours about advertising in WhatsApp began at the end of 2018. During the current FMS19 in Rotterdam, Facebook for the first time showed concrete details about the advertising to be published in 2020.
WhatsApp will bring Stories Ads in its status product in 2020.

The popular messaging app will receive status ads from next year that are already known from Instagram and Facebook. So far there are no known plans to display advertising directly in messages or the chat overview. Users who do not use the status function are therefore spared advertising for the time being.
