CES 2020: Kingston gives outlook on new products

Kingston introduced several new products at this year’s CES in Las Vegas. The storage media expert obviously focused on improving the performance of existing products. Especially the new NVMe-SSD, which has been equipped with a PCI-Express 3.0 interface, should be able to set new standards in terms of speed.
A new M.2 SSD was also introduced. This is based on an SMI controller, which offers a total of 8 memory channels. With the help of the new SSD, read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s and write speeds of 3,000 MB/s should be possible. The market launch of the new SSDs is scheduled for the second quarter of 2020. How much the SSDs will cost is not yet known.
New SSD controllers
Kingston also plans to release SSDs that come with a PCI Express 4.0 interface. These SSDs will be based on a completely newly developed SSD controller from Marvell. In addition, these offer four memory channels. A release for these SSDs is planned for the third or fourth quarter. Also this SSD should come along...
