The so-called power sensor transmits an infrared signal for this purpose, with the help of which it is to be recognized whether the user of the screen is present and is actually using the device. If this is not the case, the brightness of the monitor is significantly reduced, saving energy. Philips speaks of energy cost savings of up to 80 percent.
