Apple: Prints on leather cases when using the MagSafe charger

That there are problems with the MagSafe accessories has been known for quite some time, but now Apple itself is also becoming concrete about the problem.

Own leather covers affected!

Apple’s affected cases are made of a soft and high quality leather to protect the iPhone from scratches and breakage. Since leather is a natural material, stains, wrinkles or a patina may appear after some time of use. In addition, the MagSafe accessories can leave slight marks. In concrete terms, this means that if the user uses the MagSafe charger in combination with the leather case, circular marks may be left on the leather case. According to Apple, this is due to the compression of the leather. If you want to avoid this, you should remove the leather case before charging.
Apple is now tackling the problem with the accessories itself and on its product page it points out the changes after some time of use. Apple itself also recommends that if the user wants to avoid fingerprints, he should use a silicone case or a clear case. Whether this advice from Apple is the best remains to be seen, since the marks have also been seen on other materials. This at least according to the previous user reports, whereby it came also with the silicone cases to marks. Whether one can live with it, for 63.35 euro, after the time a circular impression to have, must know at the end everyone itself. At least Apple warns already once before.

Apart from the prints on the leather cases, there is one more point that Apple lists on its site in connection with the MagSafe accessories. The heat development for example is higher than with cabled charging. If the battery gets too warm, the software can limit charging to over 80 percent.
