Dell has now made a real challenge to Microsoft with the Latitude 7320 Detachable. The detachable comes with a 3:2 display with thin edges and Intel’s Tiger Lake with Iris Xe iGPU, making it an alternative to Microsoft’s Surface Pro 7.
Latitude 7320 Detachable, the business tablet
The Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable is the tablet version to the classic Latitude 7320. It is a Windows tablet with a 13-inch touchscreen and is just 8.44 millimeters thin. At the same time, the display has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,280 pixels and the brightness is 500 nits. The cover of the 7320 Detachable is made of scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass DX and supports an active stylus. The separately available keyboard rounds off the tablet’s form factor. It is attached to the tablet magnetically. A trackpad is also integrated and the active pen can be charged directly without a cable.
The 7320 Detachable has an unspecified Intel Tiger Lake SoC with support for Intel vPro on board to be at the forefront of performance. The tablet also has 16 GB of LPDDR4x-4,266 working memory so that it does not fall to its knees in several applications at the same time.
As for storage, there is an M.2-2230 SSD, which is available with capacities up to 1 TB. The battery of the Latitude 7320 Detachable holds 40 Wh and is charged via a 65 Watt USB-C power adapter. Charging the battery is quite fast, it is charged up to 80 percent in just one hour.
With and without keyboard standing ovation
Even without a keyboard, the tablet can stand upright. Thanks to the kickstand, the keyboard is not absolutely necessary. Without the keyboard, the tablet weighs 851 grams; adding the keyboard adds another 351 grams. On the back of the Latitude 7320 is an 8 megapixel camera, which, like the 5 MP webcam, records videos in 1080p. Optionally, an infrared camera on the front of the tablet can support Windows Hello 4.0. There is also a fingerprint sensor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon X20 LTE modem for an additional charge. In terms of ports, the Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable has two Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB-C) and a headphone jack. At the same time, the tablet transmits via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.1.
Availability and price
In the US, the Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable is already available from the end of March. When it will be available in Germany and at what price is not yet known.
