xx messenger: New private messaging app launches on decentralized network

The decentralized network xx network aims to offer users a particularly high level of privacy protection. With xx messenger, the platform has now launched a new private messaging app that allows real-time communication across hundreds of decentralized and globally operating nodes.

xx messenger with focus on security and privacy

The xx messenger on the quantum-resistant, decentralized xx network, has officially launched. The private messaging service app is available for download now on Android and iOS. Among the most important features of the secure WhatsApp alternative are normal chats, group chats, and photo and audio sharing.

Unlike existing messaging apps, xx messenger uses both quantum-resistant cryptography to protect message content from decryption and cMix software to obfuscate or shred metadata.

Thus, information about the sender, the time of a message, the location, and the recipient is immediately destroyed. Using a random selection of groups of xx nodes, anonymous sets of 1,000 messages are repeatedly shuffled and encrypted using quantum-resistant cryptography. Information linking sender and recipient is destroyed.

Compared to popular messaging apps, xx messenger is committed to additional security. “Decentralized platforms provide an opportunity to reintegrate the privacy principles of the early Internet into the fabric of the emerging web3 ecosystem,” the service’s launch press release states.

Additional security for custom messages

Each message sent through the xx messenger passes through five nodes randomly selected from hundreds of xx nodes around the world.

The xx network responsible for the messenger is a distributed decentralized blockchain and is run on transparent software and more than 350 independent nodes in more than 80 countries. As a decentralized app (dApp), the xx messenger thereby operates fully autonomously on a decentralized blockchain through smart contracts.

Responsible for the new private messaging service is renowned US cryptologo David Chaum, who has been active in this field since the 1980s. “xx messenger decentralizes private communications the same way Bitcoin decentralized finance. Let’s do it right: take back control of our own information and destiny,” Chaum said in the press release.
