iPhone SE 3 and iPad Air release: Date apparently fixed

The new “cheap” iPhone and the new iPad Air generation apparently have a release date. At least, if Bloomberg is to be believed. The news website assumes that the iPhone SE 3 release should take place in just a few weeks.

iPhone SE 3 Release in March?

As news site Bloomberg reports in analyst Marc Gurman’s podcast, the first Apple event of 2022 is expected to go down as early as March 08. Gurman assumes that Apple will not only launch the new iPhone SE 3 (which could be called iPhone SE+) then, but also the new iPad Air generation.

In fact, the iPhone SE 3 is said to offer 5G reception, an improved camera and a more powerful chip in the form of Apple’s current A15. However, Bloomberg has not yet confirmed details about the leaked Touch ID support in the power button. However, apparently nothing will actually change in terms of design compared to the previous model released in 2020.

iPad Air 5 also in March

According to Bloomberg, the new generation of the iPad Air (iPad Air 5) will also be presented to the public at the event in March. Apple is also expected to install a faster processor and a 5G modem here.

According to earlier leaks, the new Air will be very similar to the iPad mini 6 in terms of features. The Apple A15 Bionic chipset is to be used, while a new 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle Facetime camera with center stage support is to be used. The latter features relies on machine learning algorithms, thanks to which you should stay in the picture when you move away from the iPad.

iOS 15.4 release in March

iOS 15.4 is also expected to be released in final form at the event. The corresponding beta had just been released a few days ago and brought with it some exciting features. Among them, the use of Face ID with a mask or the use of the 120 Hz display by third-party apps.

Is a new Mac coming?

Furthermore, Gurman reveals that Apple plans to release at least one new Mac in spring 2022. However, it is unclear whether this will also be presented in the course of the Apple event on March 08.

It could be a high-end model of the Mac Mini based on the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, before the new Macs including the M2 chip are to be delivered in the fall of this year. Gurman then expects a new MacBook Air, an entry-level model of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, a 24-inch iMac and an entry-level Mac mini.
