Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless Pro: TWS in-ears with Hi-Res DAC

At the beginning of June, Asus presented the gaming in-ear headphones ROG Cetra True Wireless. Just in time for gamescom 2022, they provided more details on the top-of-the-line Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless Pro, which won the Innovation Award at CES 2022 earlier this year.

With the Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless Pro, they present the world’s first True Wireless headphones with dual Bluetooth and USB-C connectivity, which means they can also be used via cable.

The Pro model wants to excel especially in terms of sound. For this purpose, Asus installs an ESS 9280 DAC for Hi-Res audio with a quality of 24 bits at 96,000 Hz. Specially developed 10 mm neodymium drivers with an impedance of 32 ohms are responsible for the sound.

The in-ears cover a particularly wide frequency band of 20 Hz to 40,000 Hz via USB-C, and 20 – 20,000 Hz via Bluetooth. In Bluetooth mode, the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound technology also takes effect, which ensures a rich sound thanks to the aptX adaptive codec.

Also offered is hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC), which is supposed to effectively filter out ambient noise. Asus also promises additional modes that block out an even larger frequency spectrum, as well as wind noise.

Up to 28 hours of battery life

When paired with the gaming smartphone ROG Phone 6, the Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless Pro activate a gaming mode that drops latency to below 45 ms. The Earbuds themselves turn out relatively light with a weight of 6 grams and should be able to last for around 4.5 hours with activated ANC.

In combination with the charging case, a total runtime of 18 hours is thus achieved. If you turn off the noise cancellation, you can even get up to 28 hours (combined) (7 hours for the Earbuds, 21 hours in the charging case). Convenient: The charging case can even be supplied with new energy wirelessly in the Qi standard.

The built-in microphones also feature AI noise cancellation to ensure clear intelligibility even in noisy environments. Other features include especially ergonomic ear tips, as well as an IPX4 certification for protection against water and dirt.
