The Philips Evnia 34M2C7600MV gaming monitor sounds extremely promising. Just recently, ViewSonic introduced an almost identical monitor. The Philips model comes up with a 34-inch UQWHD display that resolves in 3,440 x 1,440 pixels and realizes a refresh rate of 165 hertz.

The manufacturer relies on a VA LCD panel including a mini-LED backlight that achieves an impressive brightness of 1400 nits thanks to local dimming in 1,152 zones. At least with HDR content. Typically, the brightness is also a very good 720 nits.

The contrast ratio is 3,000:1. This Philips monitor also has several HDR modes at once, such as HDR Premium, HDR Effect, HDR Warm, HDR Basic, which are intended for different application areas. They all come with the newly announced VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification.

The Philips display’s response time is said to be 2.5 milliseconds when switching from gray to gray, according to the manufacturer. For added immersion, the gaming monitor features a curvature of 1,500R. It also offers a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees in all directions and covers 97 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The Delta E <2 color fidelity is also impressive.

Smart technologies and many connections

The Philips Evnia 34M2C7600MV also scores with some smart technologies. Offered, for example, are a LowBlue mode and FlickerFree technology, which is supposed to prevent eye fatigue.

In addition, there is a SmartImage gaming mode that automatically adjusts the picture to different gaming genres. The “FPS” mode (First Person Shooting) improves dark areas in games. The “Racing” mode sets the display to the fastest response time and high color reproduction, and also makes image adjustments. The “RTS” (Real Time Strategy) mode has a special SmartFrame mode that enables highlighting of the specific area and allows resizing and image adjustments.

An unspecified Adaptive Synchronization is also offered. So is 4-sided Ambiglow lighting, which features lighting effects on the back that match what’s happening on the screen.

The integrated KVM switch also lets you control and switch between two devices with a single keyboard and mouse. With MultiView, both sources can be viewed on one screen at the same time.

Via USB-C, the monitor can also charge a notebook or other devices with a maximum of 90 watts, and it can also display images via DisplayPort Alt mode. Philips also installs two 5-watt speakers including DTS Sound for a virtual surround sound.

There are two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, as well as USB 3.2 Gen 1 with 5 Gbit/s, 1 x USB-B upstream, 4 x USB-A downstream and a 3.5 mm jack. The monitor is also 150mm adjustable in height, can be rotated between -20 degrees and 20 degrees, and tilted between -5 degrees and 20 degrees.

Price and Availability

The manufacturer has not revealed when and at what price the Philips Evnia 34M2C7600MV curved gaming monitor will be available in stores. However, the MSRP is likely to be above the 2,000 euro mark. More details can be found on the official product website of the manufacturer.
