Powerstations from EcoFlow have already convinced us several times in tests. For example the River Pro in April or the DELTA Pro in February. With the EcoFlow River 2 series, three new, especially compact models await you starting November 09. The innovative entry-level portable power plants under 1 kWh impress with their short charging time of only one hour maximum and many other exciting features.
EcoFlow River 2 series: sales start on November 09
From 09 November 2022, the EcoFlow River 2 series will go on sale directly from the manufacturer’s store, as well as Amazon. In the process, the series includes three models: River 2, River 2 Max and River 2 Pro. They all weigh between 3.5 kg and a maximum of 6 kg, making them particularly light and easy to take anywhere.
They all rely on the particularly safe and durable LiFePO4 battery cells, which are said to enable a service life of up to ten years. We have already explained in detail using an example from the manufacturer BLUETTI what is behind this technology.
Here, even after 3,000 charging cycles, 80 percent of the maximum capacity can still be retrieved. Free of environmentally harmful metals, LFP batteries also offer safe as well as reliable performance and can withstand extreme temperatures and difficult weather conditions.
All three devices position themselves in the entry-level class with less than 1 kWh and can be fully charged from 0 to 100 percent in just one hour, according to the manufacturer. In combination with portable solar modules, the devices can alternatively be charged with solar energy, which is of course particularly sustainable.
The three models support a maximum solar input of 220 watts and can be charged with portable EcoFlow solar modules in three to six hours using clean solar energy, depending on the model. The power stations are also particularly convenient to control and monitor via the EcoFlow app.
The differences between the three models
The three variants of the EcoFlow River 2 series differ from each other in terms of their size and the number of sockets. The smallest of the bunch is the Powerstation River 2 with a total of five sockets and a size of 245 mm x 215 mm x 145 mm. It has a capacity of 256 Wh and weighs around 3.5 kg.
The River 2 Max is positioned above it with nine sockets, 512 Wh capacity and a size of 270 mm x 260 mm x 196 mm with a weight of 6 kg. The River 2 Pro, on the other hand, offers 10 sockets and an impressive 768 Wh capacity. According to the manufacturer’s website, it weighs the most at 7.8 kg and measures 270 mm x 260 mm x 226 mm.
The three models also differ in the power of the X-Boost output, which is up to 1,600 watts for the Pro model (600 W for the River 2, 1,000 W for the River 2 Max). There, up to 80 percent of household appliances can be operated at high power.
